Perfect!!!

My friends and I go through the definitions and we diagnose each other.

Definitions vague and incomplete

"Addiction: Physical and psychological dependence on a drug." Yep, thats it. I am not a psychologist, but know this is a misleading and incomplete definition due to an "error of omission," by neglecting to include that addiction is the result of the accumulation of poor choices, ones refusal to accept personal responsibility for both the choices made and the ultimate consequences; creating a vicious circle of self denial, delusion and blame. The definition also doesnt reveal that addiction encompasses more than just drugs. Peoples accumulations of poor choices, self denial and blame can lead to physical and/or psychological dependence on many other things. Food, sex, violence, enabling other addicts, lying, criminal acts, and many other choices a person makes based on lack of self-discipline and the repetition of the same poor choices. I liken the definition to defining a car as a four door four wheeled Crown Victoria used to transport ones self to a movie theater. There are much better resources than the Psych Terms app. One star is for the app; the second star is for the inclusion of a sheer number of both familiar and unfamiliar psychology-related terms whose definitions can be looked up elsewhere.

Basic

It is helpful for those in Intro to psych. There are a lot of definitions that are too vague and most words I look for are not listed.

Vague

I hope the developers are in the process of creating fuller, more precise information. Many, if not all, of the definitions are very vague and bordering on completely misleading. Along with a definitive terms, perhaps it would be beneficial to add a new little link in each to general symptoms. There are a lot of terms, so clearly that would be a lot of work to do. But hey, its psych. Nothing is black and white in psych. There are millions of acres of grey areas and to simplify any part of it, as this app has unfortunately done, is an injustice to those with mental illness everywhere. Knowledge is power but if that knowledge is wrong, ignorance is born.

Amazing

This app is really nice to have . It helps with my everyday vocabulary and me wanting to be a psychiatrist.

Psych Terms App

Very nice & simple app, but can you add in a sound pronunciation piece to help sound out complex psych terms. Thanks, great layout.

Well-done!

Useful, informative.

Wrong information

Adrenaline is vasoconstrictor not vasodilator , as is defined in your app. Thanks : Moses9217

Searching

Cant search for parts of words, when you dont know full word.

Useless

I have been using this app for a month. I have only found one term I looked for so far from all the psychological readings I am doing. Merriam Websters defined the term more thoroughly and has had more psych terms more clearly defined. I just deleted this app.

Great app!!!

I really dont know what that previous review is about, but I found this app to be great!!! It has a lot of words in their dictionary. Unlike other apps that you download which are limited unless you buy the app, this one is helpful and its free! Very happy with it!!! Highly recommend.

Great App!

I use it all the time! Great terms!

Very useful

I am a Masters level professional psychotherapist in private practice. I find the app useful, however some terms could be defined more thoroughly.

Great

Great app. Very useful for studying psych.

Love it

In using this app . I have increased my knowledge of psych terminology.

Psych Terms

Gets straight to the point, but it would be nice if there were more to it. I couldnt find "Trypophobia". Great overall.

Missing some very common terms

First one I tried to find was "sociopath." Not there and wasnt going to waste time after that. Thats a fairly common and basic psych term.

Decent

Has plenty of terms but needs much more. If they could be defined more in depth, that would be great. However, I find the dictionary app more useful.
